AUSTRALIAN AWARDS SCHOLARSHIP OFFER Tuesday 29th January 2013
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is pleased to announce the opening of applications for the Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID) Australian Awards, fourth round of the scholarships for study in Australia, commencing January 2014.
The Australian awards are offered to eligible member states of CARICOM, Cuba and the Dominican Republic. Citizens of these countries who fulfill the criteria set out in the application profiles list at http://www.trinidadandtobago.embassy.gov.au/ptsp/study.html May apply for an Australian Award. Applications are assessed alongside submissions received from the Caribbean region.
Australia Awards for the Caribbean are offered at Masters and PhD levels. AusAID does not specify the applicant’s area of study however the board priority areas of study are Climate Change and Natural Resource Management, Education, Economic Integration/Resilience and Food Security.
To assist in the search for an appropriate course at an Australian tertiary institution, applicants must visit http://criscos.deewr.gov.au and http://studyinaustralia.gov.ag . These websites allow applicants to search for the most appropriate accredited university given their chosen area of study. These sites also give details of what it is like to study in Australia. Also available to facilitate to search process in a list of suggested courses offered at accredited Australia Institutions available at http://www.trinidadandtobago.embassy.gov.au/ptsp/study.html
Caribbean nationals applying for the Australia Awards Scholarships are also eligible to be selected to participate in the Australia Award Leadership Programme. Up to 200 outstanding Australia Awards Scholarship awardees across the globe will be offered a place in the Australia Awards Leadership Programme.
The 2013 application round for the 2014 academic year is open from the 1st February to 30th April (Australian time). The application is made online via the Online Australian Scholarships Information System (OASIS) website http://oasis.ausaid.gov.au and will be open to the public from 1st February, 2013.
