EIGHT SCHOLARS RECEIVE CHTA SCHOLARSHIP Monday 30th July 2012
The Caribbean Hotel & Tourism Association (CHTA) Education Foundation has chosen eight scholars of Antigua and Barbuda to receive scholarships. The CHTA Education Foundation has made this scholarship readily available for applicants, ages 17-29 to begin or continue their studies in the hospitality and tourism industry, online, locally or at universities overseas.
This year, a total of 35 out of 70 applicants across the Caribbean were granted scholarships to pursue their desired programmes in the hospitality and tourism industry. The total scholarship awards amount to US $215,100 and out of that amount, Antiguan scholars and scholars based in Antigua netted US $28,900.
This year’s scholarships have been awarded to Jan Joseph, Ebony Edwards, Marcia Kelly, Annell Isaac, Robert Samuel, Lana Williams, Sendy-Ann Bethune and Bradley Meade. All of the recipients of the scholarship are currently employed within the hospitality industry and have brilliant ideas on how to enhance the services that they see being provided on a day-to-day basis.
The CHTA Education Foundation, established in 1987, works diligently towards promoting awareness of the industry’s varied career opportunities as well as technical and professional development.
