WARRIORS CUP FINAL SHOWDOWN TO BE PLAYED ON THURSDAY Tuesday 13th September 2011
The Cool & Smooth Men’s Championship Cup of the Warriors Cup 2011 between Wadadli Events Rental Swetes and West Side Trucking Hill Top will be contested on Thursday, 15 September, 2011 at the English Harbour Playing Field at 5:30 pm.
Organizers say that although they would have preferred to play the game on Sunday, 18 September, 2011, they had to concede to a change because Hill Top has been scheduled to play on that day in the ABFA Knock-Out Cup.
“We would like to urge the fans of both teams and the spectators in general to come out and give their support to both teams as we look forward to crown new champions of the Warriors Cup,” said Colin James, the Tournament Director and President of Young Warriors FC.
The finals, originally set for Sept. 11, had to be postponed because of the passage of Tropical Storm Maria.
Swetes booked the place in the final with a 2-1 win over Jennings Grenades in the semi-final while Hill Top overcame Hoppers 5-3 on penalties after a 1-1 draw in the other semi-final played on Sept. 4.
