RORC CARIBBEAN 600

Following her win at the Newport Bucket in Rhode Island, the 98ft BRISTOLIAN is Antigua bound for another season in the Caribbean - the yacht will participate in the 2014 RORC Caribbean 600 starting on 24th February. As well as the owner and (full time Captain) Patrick Wynn on the crew, on board will be Race Captain John Burnie and Claude Thelier from Guadeloupe as helm/watch captain – Burnie (a RORC Caribbean 600 co–founder) and Thelier together hold the Caribbean 600 multihull record, set in 2009 on the Orma 60 Region Guadeloupe. Also on the crew will be RORC Past Commodore Andrew McIrvine, who is the present Admiral of the Royal Ocean Racing Club. This will be Andrew's 5th participation in the Caribbean 600, most notably having chartered the 154ft schooner WINDROSE on two previous occasions. Andrew will be a relief helm / watch leader and, as he is a surgeon in his professional life Andrew will oversee any required medical matters on the yacht. In all there will be 22 crew participating on the yacht during the race.

After the Caribbean 600 BRISTOLIAN will then participate in the full program at Antigua Sailing Week in April and will be looking to improve on her 4th place in class, attained in 2012, as well as her 2nd placing on the water in the Yachting World Antigua Round the Island Race, also attained in the same year.
