A total of 162 counties entered this year’s Gourmand awards. “No other non-fiction book awards event in the world has such an international impact, and extremely few have this worldwide range for literature.” The shortlist had finalists from 71 countries. Guests from 63 countries registered for the awards event. The historic Les Folies Bergère theatre was full to capacity at the prestigious ceremony.
The Gourmand Awards was truly a multi-cultural event with guests from every corner of the globe. Upon being called to take the stage to receive their first place award Gulliver & Janie Johnson proudly flew the flag for Antigua & Barbuda. They thanked the judges and invited all guests and countries to experience our food, culture and hospitality first hand. The next couple of days will be spent representing Antigua & Barbuda at the 2012 Paris Cookbook Fair.
