FOOD & DRINK GUIDE SHORLISTED FOR GOURMAND WORLD COOKBOOK AWARDS! Tuesday 6th March 2012
Leeward Consultants & Associates Ltd., publishers of The Food & Drink Guide (Antigua and Barbuda), are pleased to announce that its latest publication TABLEMANNERS: A culinary review of hospitality in Antigua & Barbuda has been shortlisted to the finalists for an award by the prestigious Gourmand World Cookbook Awards.
TABLEMANNERS is a beautifully illustrated ‘coffee table’ cookbook and guide supported by the Ministry of Tourism. It features delicious recipes from the Antigua and Barbuda Mango Festival as well as the islands chefs, bartenders, hotels, restaurants, bars and professionals from within the culinary industry. The award nomination is in the category for Best Design of Professionals.
The Gourmand World Cookbook Awards, founded in 1995, is known for attracting participants to its annual competition from many countries (162 countries were represented at last years’ event) and is “the ‘World’s Platform’ for promoting cookbooks and wine books with outstanding credentials and visibility.”
This year, the Awards will be held in Paris at the historical theatr e Les Folies Bergée on the 6th March.
The news of TABLEMANNERS being shortlisted to the final four (4) in its category, along with France, Germany and Italy, was a welcomed surprise. The Government of Antigua & Barbuda and the Ministry of Tourism have expressed their delight with this nomination and as a show of continuous support will be sending the TABLEMANNERS team, Gulliver and Janie Johnson, to the Awards.
