Having seen the band play at the Prize Giving ceremony of the Super Yacht Challenge in Antigua earlier this year, the owner of Visione booked the band to perform on the quayside during this prestigious annual regatta.
Chartering 'Spirit of Antigua' one of Wadadli Cat's largest catamarans to bring the band and all their equipment up from Antigua, it was a non-stop party since the 5am sail out of St John's harbour on Friday morning.
Having chilled out on Friday, the band were raring to go on Saturday and during their midday sound check people were stopping to listen and even dance to Itchyfeet’s great cover version of Proud Mary!
Five white, high top tents housed the stage; dance floor/bar and moored stern to the yachts were bathed in fuchsia and aqua colour washes everything set the scene for a great party.
As the sun went down St Barth's quayside started buzzing and the first band went down a storm; at 7:30pm a sumptuous buffet was served and at 8:30pm Itchyfeet put on one of their best performances ever.
The audience started dancing with the first song and just kept going. Girls were up on the stage dancing; people were requesting songs – all of which were performed with ease - and as the night progressed stage diving became a part of the gig and everyone ‘party hard’!
There was a large Antiguan contingency in the audience and everyone agreed Itchyfeet did the island proud! Their repertoire is varied, from reggae to rock to R&B, they effortlessly and seamlessly traverse from one to the other reading the audience and delivering the right mix to keep everyone up and moving.
