WHO LET THE DOGS OUT?
Friday 25th January 2013

Falmouth Residents will be shouting 'Who Let the Dogs Out!' when visitors to the 4th Annual Antigua Dog Show arrive at the St. Paul’s Rectory Grounds, Falmouth on Sunday February 24th at 11:30 am.  The Dog Show has become a February tradition.  Hundreds of visitors and their dogs show up for the event.  It is family friendly with lots of activities for the kids including face painting, Bounce castle and other children's activities. Hutchinson’s of Antigua, distributors of Pedigree Dog Food and other fine products will be at the event to provide lots of prizes.

Non-dog owners can shop or sit back relax and watch the fun under our several hospitality tents. There will be a bar and barbeque and lots of other goodies.

There is a $5 EC entry fee for all classes. This year, dog owners will be able to register their dogs online. . Some of the classes include:

  • Fancy Dress
  • Most like Owner
  • Egg and Spoon
  • Condition and Movement Puppy
  • Canine Good Citizenship
  • Best Trick
  • Friendliest Dog
  • Obstacle Coursecutest dog or Antigua’s Next Top Model (our search for a Canine cover girl) and many more.

Pedigree’s Best of Show is awarded to the dog with the most points awarded from all the classes. The highlight of the event is always the Fancy Dress segment where owners and dogs alike can dress up and play out Halloween in Antigua. More information on the dog show is available on the Antigua Dog Show FaceBook Page.

There is a $2:00 entry fee for adults and it’s free to all children.  All proceeds from the show go to PAAWS Animal Shelter.  On the serious side, The Antigua Dog Show is an advocacy for the better treatment of Antigua’s Dogs.  We hope the show sends a message to all Antiguans to show better care and understanding towards all animals.

Event organizers caution that although we have never had any dog fights we ask that all dogs must be on a lead at all times and under parental control.  All dogs entered must also be registered with Dog Control.
