GRAND PINEAPPLE BEACH RESORT HONOURS STAFF Monday 11th April 2011
It was an unforgettable evening of entertainment and celebration as Grand Pineapple Beach Resort honoured their best team members at the Pineapple Grill on Monday, 4th April. The incomparable Sly J hosted the marquee event with his usual flair and charisma.
Sergia Garcia from the Kitchen Department was crowned Prestige Team Member of the Year. Looking radiant in red, the humble Garcia beamed about receiving this prestigious award. “I am very proud of this achievement and no words can truly express how I feel right now. I always do my best every day and now I am even more committed to providing exemplary service,” said Garcia. Judith Hodge who works in the Front Office was last year’s recipient.

Accounts Supervisor Margaret O’Donoghue who has been working with the company for twenty years received the coveted Supervisor of the Year Award while the Warehouse’s Lesroy Simon took home the General Manager’s Star Award.
Javier Stappleton from Housekeeping was named most improved and the Housekeeping Department took home honours as the Department of the Year. Michelle Freeman from the Dining Room was recognized as the Most Environmentally Aware and she was also the Runner Up in the Prestige Team Member of the Year Category. The Sandals Foundation Spirit Award went to Julie Fontaine from the Photo Shop.
Jo-Anne Donaldson from the bar won the Most Guest Nominations award and her colleague Jason Athill captured the Smile Award for Courtesy. Albert Balthazar received the Financial Controller Award and a jubilant Prudencio Burgos from the IT Department copped the Manager of the Year Award.
The highlight of the evening was a surprise performance featuring General Manager Courtney Miller, Entertainment Manager Thyan Coates and Food & Beverage Manager Dale Philip. The three were dressed in drag as the Pointer Sisters while they sang “I’m So Excited,” to the delight of the audience.
