SCOUT ON FOR THE NEXT JUNIOR MINISTER OF TOURISM Monday 10th August 2015
The Antigua and Barbuda Ministry of Tourism is scouting for the 2015 Junior Minister of Tourism. This extraordinary individual between the ages of 14 and 17 years old will have the distinction of representing Antigua and Barbuda at the Caribbean Tourism Organization’s (CTO) 2015 Tourism Youth Congress from October 21 - 23, 2015 in Curacao.
The CTO’s Tourism Youth Congress, structured to mirror a CTO Board of Directors Meeting is a competitive educational forum that gives students the opportunity to discuss tourism matters with their peers at the highest level.
Junior Tourism Ministers will need to be prepared to share their knowledge and views with fellow Tourism Youth Congress participants from across the region on one of the following topics: Voluntourism - giving back to countries visited, Greening Tourism Events and Film Induced Tourism. They will also address a “mystery question.”
This year, competitors have been asked to use creative audio - visual aids to supplement / enhance and reinforce the ideas being put forward. Audio - visual aids are limited to video recordings and computer generated media, like PowerPoint.
In preparation for the Congress, the Ministry of Tourism extends an invitation to students to register for participation in the on - island selection process which will lead to the naming of the next Antigua and Barbuda Junior Minister of Tourism.
If you think that you are the best person to represent Antigua and Barbuda at this prestigious event, please contact Ms. Tracey Browne at telephone number (268) 460-9854 or via email tracey.browne@ab.gov.ag. The deadline for registration has been extended to August 14, 2015.
