ROMANCE WEEKEND ANNOUNCED

Sugar Club, Antigua - Ministry of Tourism in conjunction with the Sugar Ridge Hotel announced today, Romance Weekend 2010. The main focus of the weekend will be two days of exciting concerts themed: "Love is all we need".

Continuing on the tradition of the past years, June is again celebrated as the Romance month and the fourth annual Celebrity Destination Wedding that emphasizes how hassle free it is to get married in Antigua and Barbuda.

June 19th and 20th, 2010 will not only celebrate all fathers, but also all lovers! The line up for the two nights is an impressive ensemble of local and international artists that will entice both men and women. Sugar Ridge Hotel will be the hosting venue and a stylish, modern backdrop for these uniquely enchanting nights. Malik Yoba (recently seen opposite Janet Jackson in the movie "Why did I get married too") will be the MC.

Saturday night, June 19th, is dedicated to the "Queens of State". The concert will feature Grammy award singer Faith Evans,  Marie-Claire Rigaud, a hip opera singer from Dominica, Shermain Jeremy, Claudette CP Peters and Arianne White.

Sunday night, June 20th, in honor of Father's Day the stage passes to the "Men of Soul" featuring award winning performer Ginuwine, Tian Winter,  Kenne Blessin.

Many others are the activities that will keep the audience entertained throughout the two nights:
Destination Wedding at Carmichael's, where the winners of the Destination Wedding contest will tie the knot
Kissing Booth, where couples can have a romantic kiss and have it captured in a photo.
Aphrodisiac Bar will offer up passionate drinks all night. A signature Aphrodisiac cocktail will be created just for the event.
Love Procession will start off each night, with a procession through the garden of love.

Ticket prices are as follows:
1 night ticket: US$50
2 nights package: US$80
VIP 1 night ticket: US$75*
VIP 2 nights package: US$120*
* VIP includes: red carpet welcome, meet the artists after their performance in a VIP room, unlimited aphrodisiac drinks, 3 VIP areas.

Derede Samuel Whitlock, Director of Tourism for the US, and main organizer of the event says "They say that music is the food of love, but we believe that love is more than music and this celebration will combine all of the entertainment elements that keep romance alive."

Sugar Ridge Hotel as the main sponsor and partner in the event will offer special weekend rates, specials on spa treatments for dads and couples, giveaways and much more.
