BISHOPS STORTFORD OF LONDON NETBALL TEAM TOURS ANTIGUA Thursday 11th July 2013
The word is circulating globally that Antigua and Barbuda is fast becoming the Caribbean’s top Sports Tourism destination for the major sporting disciplines.
The island has over past few months hosted numerous all male teams in the disciplines of cricket and football and now for the first time an all female netball team; the Bishops StortFord College team is here on island for a ten day tour.

The under -18 team whose head coach is Mrs. Kay Adkins has eighteen team members and is being hosted at the Jolly Beach Resort.
While on island, the team will be engaged in a bout of friendly matches with the Pares, and All Saints secondary school teams as well as the Christ the King, Antigua Girls High and Combined Schools netball teams.
The first encounter is set for 4 pm at the YMCA Sports Complex, Thursday July 11th against the Antigua Girls High School.
Of course, the team will experience a bit of what Antigua and Barbuda has to offer as they will engage in tours inclusive of a circumnavigation of the island, a visit to Shirley Heights as well as the South Coast Horizon.
Sports Tourism Officer within the Ministry of Tourism and veteran world renowned netballer Karen Joseph says that she is happy that the Bishop StortFord’s chose Antigua. “I am looking forward to a very keen competition between the teams and I am also very proud to be able to share in this very meaningful cultural exchange”, she remarked.
The team which hails from London England leaves Antigua on July 19th. Click here for all News and Specials for Antigua & Barbuda Tourism Authority
