'LOVE IN ANTIGUA' IS HERE! Friday 12th October 2012
 All systems are go for this weekend’s ‘Love in Antigua’ activities to be headlined by international, award-winning event and wedding designer, Preston Bailey. Dubbed the ‘ultimate Caribbean destination-wedding planning event’, hundreds of persons locally and internationally are expected to attend to gain insight on the trends of the “modern bride.”
‘Love in Antigua’ kicks off on Saturday October 13, at Sandals Grande Antigua at 5:00pm, for the formal seminar and knowledge building sessions. Three guest speakers, Andrea Lown (founder of Smartbrideboutique.com), Mike Zoumberos (Limelight Photography), Jaime Luckey (Writer/Editor) will speak on the ‘Top 10 Social Media Tips for Wedding Vendors’, ‘The Art of Wedding Photography’ and ‘Upcoming Wedding Trends’ respectively.
The man of the hour, Mr. Preston Bailey will share his expertise in the weddings and events industry. Over the course of his 30-year career, Preston Bailey has elevated the concept of destination weddings and is much sought after both as a television guest and public speaker. His numerous national television appearances include, The Oprah Winfrey Show, Entertainment Tonight, Access Hollywood, Extra, CBS’s The Early Show, and NBC’s Today Show
On Sunday October 14 at 2 p.m. Nelson’s Dockyard’s Copper and Lumber Store / Hotel will be transformed into “Bride Villa”, the ultimate wedding and romance expo, the largest ever seen in Antigua and Barbuda. Patrons will meet with the premier wedding service suppliers on island in a Saint Tropez style setting. There will be fashion shows, contests, live music and speakers setting the romantic tone for the evening.
Antigua and Barbuda is known worldwide to be one of the most romantic places on earth. Readers of About.com in 2012 ranked the islands of Antigua and Barbuda as ‘The Most Romantic Island in the Caribbean’, beating out giants such as Jamaica and St. Lucia for the title. Marketing Manager of the Tourism Authority, Charmaine Spencer noted that “Association with moguls in the industry such as Preston Bailey really sets the precedence that Antigua and Barbuda is serious about its dominance in the romance business. It also educates our industry partners and entrepreneurs on best practice and trends within the sector, to enhance their business’ offerings, especially for the upcoming tourist season; it’s a win-win!”
