ANTIGUA RANKS HIGH IN OCEAN HEALTH INDEX Tuesday 28th August 2012

Ocean Health Index is an endeavor by Conservation International, the New England Aquarium, and the National Geographic Society that establish a measurement system for the health of the world’s oceans, a baseline index against which future changes can be measured.
The OHI provides a ranking of how various countries fare. One of the best indicators of how well a country or region will fare is the extent to which it is industrialized; the best indicator is whether or not it is inhabited.
Ocean Health Index has just ranked Antigua as #1 in the Caribbean and 8th in the world for the condition of our coastal areas and waters. We protect our eco-system not so much for us, but for our children's future.
