Today’s consumers’ have an appetite for concise, memorable buzzwords that increase their awareness and education in a cluttered digital environment. Designed to augment the destination’s new digital media strategy, the BUZZ List will strengthen the destination’s tag line “The Beach is Just the Beginning.”

 

US Director of Tourism, Derede Samuel-Whitlock said, “There is a growing desire for unique experiences beyond traditional all inclusive packages. We have tailored or message to address the needs of consumers in the new digital environment. Consumers may not have accurate “name recall” of hotels, but they are more likely to remember distinctive features. The BUZZ List showcases the diversity and myriad of experiences that can be enjoyed at every price point and to suit varying preferences and interests.”

 

Curtain Bluff Resort was recognized for the “Best Wine Cellar.” One respondent described this feature as “A wooden wine cellar with a technological heart…impeccably tailored, futuristic and multisensory.”

 

Trade Winds Hotel, a locally owned establishment, was recognized as “The Best Experience Beyond the Shore.”

 

The BUZZ List was developed through qualitative research that identified growing trends in hospitality and measured the destination’s attributes and offerings against industry demands. The process included panel discussions and one-and-one interviews with a sample of more than 520 respondents including industry experts, tastemakers, celebrities, travel agents and consumers. Perceptual mappings were used to gauge aggregated visitor perceptions relative to the competition.
