MINISTRY OF TOURISM HAS LAUNCHED 2010 STAYCATION SURVEY
Wednesday 29th September 2010

The Ministry of Tourism has begun preparations to host the 2011 edition of the annual Staycation Expo event. Already the official committee has put together a survey which will serve to highlight the key areas needed for improvement going forward into next year’s event.

“In order to improve upon past events, the Staycation Committee has decided to gather feedback from past patrons and participants signaling their likes, dislikes and suggestions with the intention of using the information gathered to make changes to various aspects of the expo,” remarked Vashti Ramsey Committee Chairperson.

The event which has been held for the past 2 years has seen hundreds of nationals in attendance seeking special rates and options for their on-island vacation experience.

“With such a huge data-base to whom we can field this survey, we acquired the assistance of Mrs. Alison Sly-Adams of Antigua Nice. Com who came on board as major sponsors of the 2010 event to compile and distribute the survey via the most efficient means,” Ms. Ramsey continued.
AntiguaNice.com has willingly come on board and is now administering the Official 2010 Staycation survey via the link http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/92LMTDM . Emails will also be sent out from the official database of the Ministry of Tourism encouraging past patrons to complete the survey and it will be a prominent feature of the official government website www.antigua.gov.ag.
All nationals are asked to participate in this survey which can will serve to benefit not just tourism stakeholders namely the tour operators, hoteliers and such like but visitors as well who will gain a better opportunity to partake in  all that the Staycation exercise has to offer, better deals, great entertainment, and more on-island vacation options.

The annual “Staycations Expo” features the diverse tourism product offered in Antigua and Barbuda via booth displays of promotional information on properties, tours, excursions, and entertainment for locals as well as attractive rates for locals to enjoy such activities.

The local populace is encouraged to save money and increase product knowledge by exploring and engaging in on island vacation options to suit individual and family needs.
The survey will run until November 1st 2010.
