JOINT STATEMENT ON BEHALF 0F THE MINISTRY OF TOURISM AND THE ANTIGUA AND BARBUDA CRUISE TOURISM ASSOCIATION. Friday 24th September 2010
A special meeting to plan the way forward for the growth of the cruise sector was held at the Ministry of Tourism Conference Room on Wednesday 15th September, 2010 at 5:00 p.m. The meeting was called by the Ministry of Tourism and included representatives from the Antigua and Barbuda Cruise Tourism Association, The Pier Group, St. John’s Taxi Association and the St. John’s Development Corporation.
The Hon. H. John Maginley in his address to the meeting urged that all parties continue to work in the best interest of Cruise Tourism and the overall development of the Tourism Product. President of the Antigua and Barbuda Cruise Tourism Association, Nathan Dundas, on behalf of his organization also agreed that it s important for all parties to work along with the Ministry of Tourism to continue to grow the cruise sector.
In the meantime plans are ongoing for the participation of Antigua and Barbuda in the Florida - Caribbean Cruise Association’s Conference (FCCA) and Trade Show scheduled for October 25-29, 2010 in the Dominican Republic.
