Minister of Tourism the Hon. John Maginley today (Thurs) met with the 2011 Executive Planning Committee in an effort to corporate on the way forward.
“This is definitely a plus, and it augers well for the hosting of the 2011 activity. To actually be commencing discussions in September of 2010 for next year’s event speaks volumes of the intent to build upon the successes of 2010”, Minister Maginley stated.
He continued that, “although participant numbers were low because of the volcanic eruption in Iceland, the land based activities definitely made up for those losses as all land based activities were well attended and the local community got involved on a large scale.”
Discussions in Thursday’s meeting focused on specifically on the structure and marketing of the upcoming event.
