AHTA ANNOUNCES RECIPIENTS OF THE HOSPITALITY MANAGEMENT SCHOLARSHIPS

The Antigua Hotels & Tourist Association (AHTA) is pleased to announce Olivea Smith of Ottos Village and Kesse Stevens of Cassada Gardens, as the recipients of the two year associate degree scholarship in the field of Hospitality Management at the Antigua & Barbuda Hospitality Training Institute (ABHTI).
The awardees were selected on the merits of their academics, well written essays and their enthusiasm and passion for the hospitality industry.
This is the second year of the scholarship programme that was initiated by the AHTA's Board of Directors in response to the country's educational development for more Antigua & Barbudans to attain managerial positions in the tourism industry.
"These scholarships are made possible through the Tourism Development Fund that we introduced late last year. This Dollar a Day program added to guest bills is destined to improve our tourism product and develop our human capacity though professional training and scholarships." said Neil Forrester, General Manager of AHTA.
The Chairman and Board of Directors, AHTA, would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the young ladies and wish continuous success with their professional development and urges the general public to capitalize on educational opportunities that is being provided through their organization.
