ANTIGUA SAILING WEEK

The Sailing Week Party Schedule got off to a warm for start last tonight with the official Welcome held in Nelson’s Dockyard.  As the sun went down sailors gathered at the Capstan for a laid back night of cultural entertainment, tasty food and excellent drinks.

The National Youth Choir, Shiva Dance Troupe, some of the winners of Antigua’s Got Rhythm and band Spirited, including Curtley Ambrose and Richie Richardson kept the crowd entertained. with the topless male dancers causing a stir among the ladies An early finish of 10.30 pm for the band meant sailors could get a good night’s sleep ready for the early start this morning.

Among the stalls, official merchandise sponsor Ondeck showcased the superb choice of regatta t-shirts, bags and other merchandise as well as informed people of their course programmes. Ocean Potion were on hand to share their expertise on sun care and its importance, especially to sailors and Café Britt were selling gift merchandise. All of these sponsors along with Leinfelder Goldschmiede Munich will be present in the Event Village in Nelson’s Dockard for visitors to find out more about their products.
