ANTIGUA SAILING WEEK

On Sunday, April 24, the first races of the 44th Annual Antigua Sailing Week will get underway in the waters off the south coast of Antigua.  Sailing Instructions and the final event publication, Enjoy Sailing Week, have arrived along with Sailing Week’s official currency, ASW Gold.  The Skippers’ bags are being filled in preparation for Registration which will start at noon on Thursday, April 21st and the briefing meeting and social gathering for the 100+ Antigua Sailing Week volunteers will take place from 6 to 8 pm on Wednesday, April 20 in the Beer Tent in Nelson’s Dockyard!

As the marks are being inflated and prepared for laying, the shore-side team is working hard to ensure that everything is in place for the best-ever Antigua Sailing Week post-race events.  The Welcome party gets underway in the Event Village in Nelson’s Dockyard at 5 pm on Saturday, April 23.  Don’t miss the exciting welcome to Antigua party where you can catch up with old friends and make some new ones.  There is a long list of activities and parties in the line up for post-racing every day, including The Galleon Beach Bash on Sunday night, Sunset at Shirley Heights on Tuesday featuring reggae legend Maxi Priest, and the Jolly Harbour Dock Party slated for Thursday.

To help get everyone in the regatta spirit there are online competitions happening on Antigua Sailing Week’s Facebook page and there will be prizes and give-aways provided my our invaluable sponsors in the Event Village all week long.  And don’t forget to listen to ABS and Observer for daily announcements and updates on everything to do with Antigua Sailing Week!

After enjoying the great racing that has been lined up for every day from Sunday to Friday, except for Lay Day Wednesday, come ashore to the Beer Tent in the Event Village where everyone will gather to have a few drinks, a bite of food and chat about the day’s events.
