IT'S TURTLE WATCH TIME!
Hawksbill Turtle nesting season has started and the EAG will be conducting turtle watching trips once again.
Trips are Friday evenings only, 7:30pm to 10:30pm, starting on 12th July and will be running until 4th October, 2013. Space is limited and all reservations must be made in advance, so sign up early by emailing eagantigua@gmail.com. All fares will be posted on the EAG website in the coming days.
We look forward to an exciting and active season!!!
Calling All Turtle Watch Leaders!
Each turtle trip must be guided by an EAG member. If you are interested in leading one or more watches this season, we will be having an EAG Volunteer Orientation Turtle Watch on Friday 5th July 2013. This Orientation Watch includes a ferry ride to and from Long Island where we will be met by this year’s new research team and participate in a typical beach patrol. You will be given information on the Hawksbill Turtles, what to expect/guidelines and procedures for leading a Turtle Watch, and can choose your dates to lead future trips.
Space is VERY limited, so if you are interested in leading Turtle Watches, please email eagantigua@gmail.com ASAP (first come, first serve). This trip is free of charge and it is expected that participants will be willing to lead at least 1-2 Turtle Watch trips in the following months and have a strong commitment to attend any dates chosen.
We look forward to an exciting and active season!!!
