RECENT NEWS FROM ONDECK ANTIGUA Friday 8th November 2013
Photo compliments of Ondeck.
September and October saw a lot of 'on island' training activity as commercial vessel operators move to get their crews qualified during the quiet season and by the end of year deadlines.
The training involves a theory element, some on the water exercises along with the 1 day Radio, First Aid and Sea Survival courses before taking the exam administered by ADOMS.
A number of successful candidates have already obtained their Boatmaster licenses but there are slots available for future training.
Looking forward to the season, Ondeck is striving to offer visiting yacht crews "the right course in the right place at the right time" and in that respect has a full programme of RYA courses to Yachtmaster Ocean as well as STCW 95 safety training, Radar and Advanced Medical courses [the old Ships Captain's Medical].

Regatta enquiries continue to be very high for Antigua Sailing Week in particular and Ondeck's two Benetau 40.7's are booked and entered and Ondeck is now actively seeking other yachts to market.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Interest in Ondeck's transatlantic and ocean crossings is still high but there are still a few last minute places on the ARC [Canaries to St Lucia]. Apart from ticking one off the 'bucket list' these trips are great for mile and passage building for Yachtmaster Offshore or Ocean qualifications which we do of course offer in Antigua in December. Most of the yachts taking part have very experienced crew who are very happy to pass on their knowledge. Click here for all News and Specials for Ondeck
