This summer the ABSAR board decided to replace the Ford pickup owned by Jonathon Cornelius of ABSAR and used for ABSAR emergency clal outs with a Land Rover Defender 110 wagon.
He would like to thank Jon (Gilly) Gill of Premier Motors Antigua for assisting ABSAR by providing this vehicle at his cost. Gilly also donated a roof rack with spotlights along with a number of other add on items.
Michael Briggs helped out by ordering a winch to be fitted on the vehicle upon arrival.
Steve Miller and his crew at Marine Power Services (M.P.S.) assisted with welding for the roof rack.
James Hudson spent several days in the hot sun assisting in the installation of the emergency lights, siren, air horn…
Luke Pressley, Sven Harder, and Rob Steele also pitched in to help complete the project.
In addition to the equipment from the previous rescue truck, we will be carrying a basket stretcher for rough terrain rescue situations. This vehicle has been also been modified to allow us to utilize it as a patient transport vehicle and backup to our current Emergency Response Vehicle.
