ANTIGUA YACHT CLUB

(St. John’s, Antigua) June 15, 2016 - The Antigua Yacht Club, organizers of the 2016 North American Optimist Dinghy Championships (OPTINAM 2016) has issued a call for volunteers for the youth sailing event taking place in English Harbour from July 10 – July 18, 2016.
 
The Optimist is the biggest youth racing class in the World and the Championships are held annually for sailors aged between 10 and 15 years of age.
Antigua and Barbuda will host the event for the second year in a row following its successful staging of the event in 2015.  Approximately150 young sailors from twenty countries have registered to participate in the 2016 event, with teams travelling from as far a Japan, Switzerland, Australia and New Zealand.
 
Organisers are looking for responsible and enthusiastic individuals who have an appreciation for performing a variety of roles required for successful event execution.
