Dredging at the entrance to Jolly Harbour is virtually complete with only a few small areas that still need finessing. Bad weather at various times over the past several months have delayed progress, with ground swells necessitating the suspension of dredging operations from time to time.
In the meantime, however, dredging efforts have already proven fruitful as Jolly Harbour Marina has had three big yachts in the harbour recently, two of which had a draft of 13 feet. One of the yachts was 86 feet long, and the other two were large motor yachts of around 125 feet, both of which were visiting Jolly Harbour for the first time.
Jolly Harbour Marina will be having a pilotage plan of the harbour prepared based on GPS and will publish it on its website in the near future.
