SHEER ROCKS RESTAURANT

Five years ago, Sheer Rocks was born. Spirited owners, Kate & Alex Rocks have created an award winning, swish open-air restaurant, poised artfully on the edge of a sunset facing bluff on the West coast of Antigua in the West Indies.

In this short time, Sheer Rocks has become one of the ‘must visit' dining spots, representing young and innovative thinking, thanks to its diverse concept and Kate and Alex’s vision and ability to mix a beautiful location with unique dining pavilions, daybeds and a plunge pool; with a Mediterranean inspired menu supporting local produce, thus crafting an evocative lifestyle experience for all to enjoy.

This CD is a culmination of a relationship that was formed in Ibiza between the two and Cafe Mambo resident Pete Gooding.

Alex’s background has always been that of a chef, working for the likes of Marco Pierre White and at The Burj Al Arab in Dubai and along with Kate’s background in music, events and design made for the perfect collaboration for a peak season, monthly event at Sheer Rocks that has already seen the venue play host to an impressive array of DJ talent.

DJs have included, Pete Gooding, Danny & Ilona Rampling, Darren Emerson, Nigel Gore (Back II Life) Alan Russell (Black Market Records) CK Feltman, Casio Co Pilot, Carlito Mujinan, Dave Boynes, Jasmine Boomy (Toucan) & Jamie Raines.

The track listing has been hand selected by Pete Gooding and Phil Dockerty from Secret Life Music working closely with Kate and Alex and includes some key musical highlights and some of the hottest names in Balearic music.

Norwegian producer Telephones is included with his “Hot Destinations for a Cooler You” track from Gerd Jansen’s tastemaking Running Back label. The album also features fellow Norwegian Rune Lindbaek teaming up with Øyvind Blikstad on the excellent “North”. Sunset master Jose Padilla collaborates with Australian producer Tornado Wallace on the Brazilian influenced “Mojame” that’s taken from Jose’s album “Too Many Colours” recently released on International Feel.

Another highlight comes from Italian DJ / Production duo Balearic Gabba Sound System in the form of their remix of “So Good” by Danish band, The Ball and the Wall released on Secret Life Records. Other contributors include, Waldemar Schwartz (Golf Channel Recordings), Napoleon aka Simon Mills, one half of legendary production duo Bent. Finally no compilation of this type would be complete without an offering from legendary Chill Out producer Afterlife.

The launch of the Music On The Rocks album party will be on Sunday, December 13 at Sheer Rocks Restaurant at 2:00 pm.
