“A must see for everyone”

"The Sunset Party on Sunday night at Shirley Heights was so much fun! From the steel drum band, to the ice cold beverages to the bbq'd food & vendors.....it's definitely a must see while in Antigua. We took a taxi from our resort (3 taxi's, 9 couples total) and had a great time once again touring the countryside during the 30 minute ride to Shirley Heights. For us, the $8 per person entrance fee was no big deal, the sunset we saw was worth that & more! I can't speak to how the food was since we ate a later lunch, but the beers were cold & the rum punch very easy to swallow (about $4 for each drink, again not bad in our eyes). Yes there were a lot of people, but it's a tourist attraction so that is to be expected. A polite "excuse me" and people moved out of my way when I wanted to get a shot of the sunset. We had the pleasure of seeing "Captain Jack Sparrow" while we were there too, he sure looks good for his age, LOL! The vendors were not pushy, although we did purchase a CD ($15) from the band & a few other trinkets to bring home. We had been up to Shirley Heights on a land tour the day before when there was hardly anyone there, but like I mentioned earlier, being up there at sunset was so totally amazing......don't pass this one up!!"
