We Are Hiring:
Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre is seeking to recruit an experienced and highly motivated Radiology Supervisor. Under the direction of the Radiology Manager, the Radiology Supervisor of a Specialty Area is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and service delivery in a designated specialty (CT, Mammography, MRI, or Ultrasound) within the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre. This includes enforcing departmental policies, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring efficient patient care and workflow in collaboration with other hospital departments.
Main Responsibilities:
Operational Management:
- Enforce departmental policies and procedures for the specialty area.
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality imaging services in accordance with manufacturer's specifications and best practices.
- Control patient flow and load management within the specialty area to ensure smooth operations.
Service Improvement:
- Assist the Radiology Manager in developing strategies to enhance service delivery within the specialty area.
- Continuously assess and improve image quality, safety standards and patient care practices.
Collaboration and Coordination:
- Liaise with hospital departments such as wards,stores, biomedical, and maintenence staff to ensure effective operations.
- Coordinate with external stakeholders like contractors and equipment supplies for maintenence and repairs
Supetrvison and Leadership:
- Provide guidance and supervision to Radiologic Technologies and support staff with the specialty area.
- Set a professional example by maintaining high standards of image and fostering a responsible attitude among staff.
Quality Control and Safety
- Participate in quality control initiatives within the specialty area.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and procedures; report an y breaches or concerns to the Radiology Manager.
- Assist in developing and maintaining safety manuals for the specialty area, including radiation and infection control measures.
Administrative Support/ Training:
- Assist with staffing schedules, procurement of supplies, and inventory management for the specialty area.
- Act as the Radiology Manager during their absence (limited period)
- Assist with training and orientation of new staff in the specialty areas.
Reporting and Documentation:
- Compile and submit statistical data on the performance of the specialty area as requested by the radiology manager.
- Generate reports on patient load, equipment functionality, and service quality.
Qualifications
- First dregree in radiography/diagnostic imaging or equivalent (preferred but optional for MR Technologists or Sonographers).
- Certification in the specific Specialty Area (CT, Mammography, MRI, Ultrasound).
- Certificate in Supervisory Management.
- Minimum of 3years in General Radiography (preferred but optional for MR Technologists or Sonographers)
- At least 5 years of experience in the specific Specialty Area.
