St. John’s, Antigua, April 23, 2020 - Beginning (on a limited basis) on Monday April 27, Mount St. John's Medical Centre (MSJMC) will resume services which were previously halted due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

"We know many of our patients and families who have waited weeks for procedures and diagnostic imaging appointments are anxious," said Dr. Albert Duncan, MSJMC Medical Director.

"We want the public to know though, that the transition will be starting out on a limited basis and it will be slow and incremental - Because your safety and that of our team is our number one priority."

The initial changes taking place involves the following:

Radiology Department: Patients who previously had appointments for the following services will be called to reschedule their appointment. Those services include: Ultrasound, Mammogram and Computed Tomography (CT).

Outpatient Clinic: Clinics will resume on Monday (April 27). However, patients will be called with an appointment date and time.

There will be strict adherence to the government policy requiring individuals to wear a mask/cloth face covering while in public.

Concerned patients are being strongly advised not to visit the hospital for any radiology or outpatient clinic appointments (excluding oncology, dialysis and antenatal high-risk) unless you've been contacted with a date and time. Our care teams are busy making calls. We ask for your patience.

The community is being encouraged to continue practicing proper hand hygiene, physical-distancing, wearing of masks/cloth face coverings, proper cough and sneeze etiquette and staying at home if you’re sick.

All other restrictions put in place by the hospital in response to COVID-19 remains in effect until further notice.
