MONTHLY PHOTO COMPETITION WINNERS - MARCH 2012 Friday 30th March 2012
All March long you’ve had an opportunity to win prizes from Sunseakers and Le Zest by the amount of ‘likes’ you get in the Antiguanice.com March Photo Challenge. Today we announce the two winners of our monthly photo competition.
Yet again we were delighted to receive over 160 entries, which is far more than we anticipated and the general standard of entry has been very high! Well done to all participants and we hope you enjoyed taking these photos, we certainly enjoyed sharing them!
Without further ado, here are the two winners and the people's choice based on the number of votes. We've also included a sentence or two about our thoughts on each winning photo.
Our winners are:
On the Beach category winner is Baby Shay in a photo titled ‘Barbuda Smile’ as it was taken by Marita Laurent at Coco Point in Barbuda. We call it Baby Shay because it features Shay Laurent-Griffith, “a young Antiguan boy blissfully enjoying the natural and pristine beaches of his homeland”. He has won a stunning piece of swimwear from Sunseakers to wear to one of Antigua's pristine beaches.
The apparent runner up in this category, who unfortunately couldn’t close the gap before closing, is Taru Tuomi’s submission of a model and the expansive blue sea meeting the equally blue sky in a scene that is breathtakingly and quintessentially Antiguan.
Meanwhile in the category, the Beach is Just the Beginning Khadijah James’ garden shot has attracted most of the love and therefore take the win for this category. She has won , a scrumptious meal for two in the form of a voucher valued EC$ 300 (3 courses plus a glass of wine) to dazzle your taste buds from Le Zest.
