Antigua & Barbuda, St. John’s – The Antigua & Barbuda Tennis Association (ABTA) has received a donation to assist with one of the biggest expenses of hosting an upcoming tournament, namely those associated with having the qualified referee who will be flown in especially for the event. This referee is an ITF white badge referee and will bring with her a significant amount of experience having refereed in excess of 20 years at the highest Grand Slam levels in the Americas and throughout Europe.
“Wishing Well Inc. is proud to contribute to this event for young Antiguans & Barbudans (ages 10 to 12) who will have the opportunity not only to participate in a sport they love, but also to foster longstanding friendships with the other children they meet from up to 21 nations participating in the Invitational later this month. It’s another opportunity for our young ones to get international exposure, which will help them in various areas of their lives in the future.” - Sascha Mercer, representative of Wishing Well Inc.
Coach and President of the ABTA Mr. Cordell Williams and Mrs. Dojn Lake-Kentish were at the National Tennis Center to accept the cheque on behalf of the organizing committee.
“The donation received from Wishing Well Inc. has played a key role in what we hope will be a successful tournament. We, the members of the ABTA, are continually inspired by the dedication and generosity of donors like Wishing Well Inc. who answer the call to support our nation’s youth.” – Dojn Lake-Kentish, Planning Committee member.
“It is truly heart-warming to know that there are entities who appreciate the role that sports play in the development of our youth and are willing to offer their financial support” – Cordell Wiliams, President ABTA.
