3RD LEG OF NACAC 10K CARIBBEAN SERIES
Thursday 25th October 2012

The NACAC 10k Caribbean Series is being held from September 15, 2012 to December 2, 2012 as follows:

15th September: Dominican Republic
II 6th October : Tortola, British Virgin Islands
III 28th October:  Antigua
IV 18th November: St. Kitts & Nevis
 2nd December: Trinidad and Tobago
VI  9th December: St. Vincent  
The third leg of the series will be held in Antigua on Sunday, October 28, 2012 commencing at 7:00a.m.
 
Registration must be submitted in the format of an executed registration form available from the NACAC website or host country race organizer. The registration fee is Overseas RunnersUS$20.00, Local Runners EC$20.00.

The ABAA will appoint a race marshals along the course. Runners should follow instructions at the start/finish and on the course. In any appeal, the decision of the ABAA is final.
 
RACE INFORMATION
Sunday, October 28, 2012, St. John’s, Antigua  
Arrival and Registration of Oversees Athletes at hotel

Departure of Overseas Athletes and Officials where necessary
 
ELIGIBILITY
The Antigua and Barbuda leg of the NACAC 10k Caribbean series is organized in accordance with the international competition regulations of the International Athletics Federation (IAAF) under the supervision of Antigua and Barbuda Athletics Association. The race is open to all athletes licensed or non licensed of any nationality, born in or before 1996 or at the discretion of the Organizing Authority. It is important to note that runners compete in the race at their own liability and responsibility.
 
REGISTRATION
Registration forms are available from the NACAC website or host country Antigua and Barbuda Athletic Association. Registration will be accepted up until the close of registration on October 27th, 2012 at 6.30 p.m. Athletes are encouraged to preregister via any of the above contacts to ensure eligibility. Registration is being done at Yasco Office from 4:30pm to 7:00pm or from any member.
 
START AND FINISH
Start on the Old Parham road outside the Antigua Recreation Grounds (ARG) and finish inside ARG. All parking will be at The TN Kirnon Grounds.
 
TOILET : There will be toilet and bathroom facilities at the ARG.

TIMING
: Timing will be by clock.
 
IMPORTANT NOTICES
Fair sportsman-like behaviour is expected of all participants. Please keep to the marked route.
The organizer will disqualify participants in the following cases: leaving the course, not rounding the turn cone and alteration of race number. The race number must be worn on the front and visible at all times.
The roads will marked and kept open with police escort. Runners should not take undue risk or run into the oncoming traffic. Entrants run at their own liability.
 
CATEGORIES /AWARDS
Separate results for men and women in 5 categories.
The awards will include the following cash prizes (in United States Dollars):

GENERAL SERVICES
Road safety will be provided by the Royal Police Force of Antigua & Barbuda and Race Marshalls.
Medical services are provided by the Antigua & Barbuda Red Cross and the Emergency Medical Service (EMS). There will be a medical vehicle along the course.
The Antigua & Barbuda Red Cross and the EMS have the right and the responsibility to remove any participants with signs of injury or excessive strain from the race.
 
RACE INSTRUCTIONS
The NACAC 10k measures 6.2 miles and respects the international regulations for road races (I.A.A.F.) as well as the national requirements outlined by the road racing committee of the Antigua & Barbuda Athletics Association.
 
The race will start on the Old Parham road outside the Antigua Recreation Grounds (ARG) at 7:00a.m.
 
The Course:. From the roundabout at the Antigua Recreation Grounds, up Old Parham Road to exit right on Hawkins Drive onto Factory Road, then left on Independence Drive onto Camacho’s Avenue, right on All Saints Road, left onto Joseph Lane onto King Obstinate Drive. Turn right on Martin Road onto Perry Bay Drive and continue left onto Market Street up to the Police Station, then left at traffic lights onto Newgate Street. Turn right onto Popeshead Street, straight ahead past traffic light onto Fort Road, then right onto Rohan Henry Street. Turn right onto Friars Hill Road past traffic lights onto Cross Street, left on Bishopgate Street past Roundabout onto Old Parham Road then right onto Coronation Road then enter right gate into ARG to finish on grass field.
 
There will be penalty for running on pavements or sidewalks. Each runner enters at his own risk and should have previous experience in racing on open roads.
The race course is measured in kilometers and marked with florescent paint at:
  1.  Each Km mark 1 to 9
  2. Arrows will signal Turn points
  3. 10k finish on grass at ARG
Refreshment Stations will be provided between 2.3 to 2.5 km. and at the finish line.
