CORDELL WILLIAMS JR. WINS COCA COLA ITF U14 DOUBLES Thursday 15th August 2013
Today was a day of ups and downs but team Antigua continues to advance
in this years Coca Cola ITF tournament.
Under 14 player Cordell Williams Jr., teaming up with Jean Phillip-Murray of St. Lucia (#1 seed) WON the boys U14 boys doubles at this year's Coca Cola ITF with their victory over Grenadian doubles team & #2 seed Mickel Alexander & Ikolo Ukpioronfo in a three set trilogy 6-7(5-7), 6-3, 10-7; this after they booked their spot in the finals with their victory over Trinidadian team Joshua Arnold & Kobe James 6-2, 6-0
Under 18 player D'Jeri Raymond & her doubles partner Shania Millington
of Trinidad & Tobago also fared well as they took down the # 4 doubles team Melena Lopez (BAR) & Maria Dominique Ong (PHI) in three sets
3-6, 6-3 (15-13) to advance to the doubles semi-finals.
Today's singles matches took a slightly different road as #3 seed Cordell Williams Jr. came up against his doubles partner Jean Phillip-Murray, losing in straight sets. 3-6, 0-6.
Similar Results were came for Nicholas Fuller in his battle against Miguel Francis of St.Vincent to be the boys consolation champion. Fuller had to take second chair as the more sure footed Francis was crowned boys consolation winner; Francis defeated Fuller 5-3, 4-1
