WILLIAMS CONTINUES TO PLAY COMPETITIVE IN CARIBBEAN DEVELOPMENT CHAMPIONSHIPS Friday 31st August 2012
As the Caribbean Development Championships roars on in the scorching heat of Scarborough, Tobago.
Team Antigua & Barbuda continues to work hard at attaining credible positions. On the 29th August, Cordell Williams Jr. lost the fight in his bid for a semi finals position. Williams Jr. went down to Ukpiorofo Ikolo (GRN) 4-6, 1-6. After his loss on 29th Williams Jr aim was set at fighting for position 5-9, where he came up against Luke Stirling of Bermuda defeating him 6-3, 6-4 this win cemented his fight position which will be 5th or 6th depending on the out coming of today’s match.
Justice Christopher, who made the consolation draw, lost his match against Adam Scott (TRI) in his bid for 13th position. Christopher went down to Scott 6-1, 6-2 on 29th August. In his fight for position #17 Christopher further lost of Khalid Gobin (GUY) 1-6, 6-4 (8-10). At close of play yesterday Christopher placed 19th for this year Caribbean Development Championships.
In the doubles competition Williams & Christopher lost in the first round to Patrick Sydow/Kevin Yarzagary(ARU) 1-6, 6-3.
