ABSF ANNOUNCES NATIONAL TEAMS FOR UPCOMING INTERNATIONAL SWIM COMPETITIONS Thursday 15th August 2024
The Antigua and Barbuda Swimming Federation (ABSF) has revealed the national teams selected to represent the country at two major upcoming events: The Goodwill Games in St. Lucia and the PanAm Aquatics Age Group Swimming Championships in Puerto Rico.
Making history, this marks the first time Antigua and Barbuda will participate in the Goodwill Games. Designed as a developmental platform, the event caters to young swimmers aged 8 to 17 who have not yet qualified for higher-tier competitions like CARIFTA. The Goodwill Games will feature athletes from ten nations, including Trinidad & Tobago, Barbados, Bahamas, Suriname, Grenada, Jamaica, St. Lucia, Turks & Caicos, Curacao, and Antigua and Barbuda. The competition is slated to run from August 16th to 18th, 2024.
The PanAm Aquatics Age Group Swimming Championships, scheduled for August 22-25, 2024, in San Juan, Puerto Rico, will be a significant event for Antigua and Barbuda's swimmers. This competition offers a crucial opportunity for athletes aged 11-18 from across the Americas, including Canada to South America, to demonstrate their abilities and gain valuable international experience.
