A Legacy of Service, Now Continued by Lindsay Duffy
Duffy & Company was originally established in the U.K. in 1973 by the late John Duffy MRICS—Chartered Surveyor—as a firm of estate agents, auctioneers, surveyors, and valuers. It continues to operate in Sussex, while also thriving under Lindsay Duffy’s stewardship in Antigua, where the business was re-established in 2021.
John Duffy was a visionary entrepreneur whose ventures spanned multiple industries, including newspaper and magazine publishing, computer software and firmware, employment services, and property investment and development.
Beyond business, John was a dedicated community leader. He served as Chairman of his regional Chamber of Commerce and Commodore of the Brighton Marine Yacht Club, among other voluntary roles. His move to Antigua in 2005 with his wife Lindsay—originally inspired by their passion for sailing—marked the beginning of a remarkable new chapter.
Rooted in Antigua, Connected to the Caribbean
John quickly became an integral part of the Antiguan community. He was elected President of the Antigua & Barbuda Marine Association in 2006 and later became President of the Caribbean Marine Association. He also served on the boards of the Antigua Yacht Club, the National Sailing Academy, and Antigua Sailing Week, and acted as PR & Legal Officer to the Royal Naval Tot Club. Notably, he brought the North American Optimist Dinghy Championships to Antigua in 2015—an event that returned twice more.
He remained an active leader in regional initiatives, holding positions as Director of the Royal Commonwealth Society of Antigua & Barbuda, Chairman of the British Caribbean Pensioners Association, and the International Consortium of British Pensioners.
In 2015, John was invited to help transform a primarily commercial estate agency into a successful residential business—reigniting his passion for property. This led to the founding of Duffy & Company in Antigua in 2021.

With deep roots in both the U.K. and the Caribbean, the company provides trusted services in residential and commercial sales, land and building plots, and long-term rentals. Based in English Harbour and Falmouth, we serve all of Antigua and, when needed, the wider Caribbean region.
