Nestled on the north side of the island between Runaway and Marina Bay, within a lush tropical garden meandering down to the soft white sandy oceanfront, Casa Roots is the heart and soul of husband and wife team Sylvain and Nadine.
Everything about Casa Roots oozes chic French charm and organic Caribbean warmth. The harmonious blend of generous sized curved wooden chairs, crafted wooden tables and stylish accessories all create an elegant yet rustic atmosphere which gently hints at the creative cuisine you will savour.
Sylvain Hervochon, the owner is an experienced chef and culinary trainer with over 30 years of worldwide exposure. He has owned his own restaurant in France; consulted for a luxury boat company in the Galapagos Islands, Ecuador; managed culinary departments for renowned groups such as Fairmount Royal Pavilion in Barbados and most recently was Executive Chef at Rosewood Jumby Bay, here in Antigua.
His experience and passion are now deeply rooted in this beautiful island and he is providing an amazing opportunity for the young local chefs under his guidance. From the semi-open, inter-action kitchen they offer innovative Caribbean cuisine with a French touch, enhanced with local organically grown ingredients. With a weekly À La Carte menu, Casa Roots also offers daily market specials for lunch and dinner.
The well-stocked bar has a good selection of new and old-world wines plus an array of interesting bottles containing delicious homemade marinated and spiced rums - what better way to round off a wonderful meal.
