BLACK HEROES CELEBRATION
Black History Month is a national annual celebration for remembrance of important people and events in the history of the African ethnicity. It is celebrated during the month of February. It's a time where everyone reflects back on contributions that black people have made throughout history and honour those who fought for equal rights and privileges. The aim is to promote knowledge of Black History and experience, spreading information on from generation to generations.
During the month of February, in Antigua and Barbuda, there is a full programme of activities that explore, showcase and celebrate the issues that get to the heart of the image and identity of Caribbean people of African descent. These activities include radio discussions, lectures, a visual arts exhibition and creative arts showcase, and more. |
