ANTIGUA & BARBUDA TO BE FEATURED ON THE WORLD STAGE
Tuesday 23rd July 2013

With approximately 8 million viewers world-wide tuning in, the beautiful islands of Antigua & Barbuda will take centre stage as the romantic backdrop for the ABC Television primetime reality series, The Bachelorette.

Antigua and Barbuda, ‘The Romance Capital of the Caribbean’ was chosen from amongst other Caribbean destinations as the perfect location for the upcoming season finale episodes of the hit ABC TV show The Bachelorette.

Minister of Tourism & Civil Aviation, Honorable John Maginley commented, “Antigua and Barbuda is proud to be showcased on US national television during this ABC broadcast of The Bachelorette. I am pleased and proud to invite all Antiguans & Barbudans to tune in as our beautiful islands make an international debut during the ABC Television Network broadcast of the hit primetime reality series ‘The Bachelorette’.

The two-part finale episode will feature the beautiful and exotic scenery of the twin islands coupled with the romance and style of St. James’s Club & Villas, The Verandah Resort & Spa and Galley Bay Resort & Spa. Antigua & Barbuda will be showcased as the idyllic setting for the remaining suitors and Bachelorette, Desiree Hartsock. Will Desiree find the man of her dreams? Will he propose? Will she accept? The two-part season finale episode is scheduled to begin Monday, July 29, 2013, at 8/7c on ABC, and don’t miss the live three hour finale event Monday, August 5th, 2013, at 8/7c on ABC.

"The Bachelorette, with its appeal to millions of viewers in North America, provides us with an excellent opportunity to showcase our beautiful islands which are world renowned for love and romance. The four hours of prime time television exposure that Antigua and Barbuda will receive is an unparalleled PR opportunity for our destination. This opportunity will yield significant brand awareness for Antigua and Barbuda which will translate into a significant spike in our visitor arrivals for the upcoming winter season," said Colin C. James, CEO of the Antigua & Barbuda Tourism Authority.

This season on The Bachelorette, Desiree, 27, an operations manager and stylist at a bridal salon, who previously charmed America’s favorite Bachelor, Sean Lowe, meets 25 potential soul mates and gets another shot at love as the Bachelorette. Millions watched, stunned, as Sean sent Desiree home following the hometown dates even after she pleaded he was making a big mistake. Desiree has not given up on her dream of love, however, and she knows with certainty that the time is right for her to risk it all again to find her one true love on The Bachelorette.

Follow Desiree’s journey along secluded pink sand shores that stretch for miles and immerse yourself in spectacular sunsets here in the romantic isles of Antigua and Barbuda, where love abounds in every moment!
