TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT PLANS FOR REGGAE IN THE PARK
Sunday 29th April 2018

Ready, Set, All Go For Reggae in The Park

Reggae fans are getting ready for the ninth annual Reggae in the Park concert featuring Tarrus Riley, DJ Puffy and DJ Private Ryan on Tuesday, May 01 in historic, Nelson's Dockyard. The organisers are expecting a massive crowd and are working closely with the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda to minimise traffic to and from the show.

Rana Lewis, Antigua Sailing Week Logistics and Event Manager explains the measures that will be in place: "We have worked hard to address some of the major concerns raised with regards to traffic management. We are working closely with the Police's traffic department and the Bus Association. With regards to traffic management as the one way system will be in effect,  we are asking our patrons to make full use of the park and ride facilities available at Falmouth Rectory Grounds and Marsh Village. There is a fee of EC$5 return."

Lewis adds that the key message for this event is road safety: "We are also encouraging persons to car pool and designate a driver. If, you do not have a car or do not want to drive, there will be shuttles from St. John's, starting from the West Bus station, onto East Bus Station, then Townhouse Mega store and onto English Harbour. This will cost EC$10 and will run at 4pm, 5pm, 6pm, 7pm, 8pm and 9pm.  The shuttle will then return from English Harbour at 12am, 1am and 2 am back to town.We want everyone to enjoy the evening, so please cooperate with the police and follow their instructions. Less road stress means more time for Reggae in the Park."

The area will be buzzing with a choice of places to eat, lime before the show: "The vendors square will be in full flow as well as our partner bars and restaurants. We will be starting on time, so come early and enjoy music from 5pm"

Tickets for Reggae in the Park are selling really well, however, patrons are asked to buy them before 4pm on May 01 as the price will go from EC$120 to EC$135 at the gate. The VIP Lookout tickets are EC$150. Advance tickets are available at the following outlets: the Antigua Sailing Week Box office at Antigua Yacht Club next to the Gill Merchandise stall; Townhouse Mega Store; Harpers Office Depot in St. John's and Village Walk; Steph & Vlada's Studio, Jolly Harbour and the Source. Tickets are also available on the Ticketing App and at the gate on the night.
