RAIN HAMPERS FIRST DAYS PLAY OF INTERNATIONAL PAIRS IN SCOTLANDMonday 17th October 2011
St. John’s, Antigua: Heavy rain was the only winner on the first day of the International Pairs in Scotland, which teed off today. The poor conditions caused play to be abandoned after only nine holes. The weather also affected the Antiguan and Barbudan pair of Lionel ‘Dougie’ O’Brien and Avery Jonas, who ended the nine holes in 16th place with 12 points.
O'Brien and Jonas will tee off Tuesday morning at 9:30am (UK time/4:30am east Caribbean time) with the pair from England. They are still optimistic of finishing higher and are also hoping for better weather and playing conditions.
Zorol Barthley, CEO of Golf Experience Caribbean who is also accompanying the team will travel to Warwickshire on Thursday, October 20 to present a cheque to Winston Davis, the recipient of this year’s fund raising award.
