MISS PINEAPPLE WINS 2012 MISS AGRICULTURE PAGEANT Monday 22nd October 2012
The first edition of the Miss Agriculture pageant was held on October 20th, 2012 at the Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Grounds where six contestants who reside on the island competed for the crown, marking the first ever agriculture pageant in Caribbean history.
The six delegates were: Ms Carrot; Melissa McLeish, Ms Sweet Potatoes; Kimer Peter, Ms Watermelon; Sharee Philip, Ms Pineapple; Amanda Tappin, Ms Julie Mango; J’nore Smith and Ms Sweet Pepper; Arlette Chastanet who competed in five segments, including Introductory Speech, Talent, Swimwear, Cultural Dress and Interview.
Ms Pineapple was crowned the queen of the 2012 Ms. Agriculture Pageant at the end of the event along with first runner-up Melissa McLeish, Ms. Carrot and second runner-up Arlette Chastanet, Ms. Sweet Pepper. The winner recieves EC$ 4000. The First Runner-Up EC$ 2500, while the Second Runner-Up receive
EC$ 1500. The 3 unplaced queens will receive EC$ 500 each.
