The Rotaract
Club of Antigua
was established in May of 1986 and officially chartered on
December 5 of that same year, as a part of District 7030. The
club, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Antigua, was founded by
Rotarians, Patrick (Paddy) Benjamin and the late Anthony
Michael. |

Greg Walter was the charter president and Keva Margetson
vice president.
Over its almost 18 years of existence, the club has
helped to develop a number of young men and women in
Antigua. |

What is Rotaract?

Rotaract is a service organization for
young adults between the ages of 18-30.

Rotaract clubs are part of a global effort
to bring peace and international understanding to the world.
What is Rotary?

Rotary is a global network of community
volunteers.

Rotary is an international service
organization of 1.2 million business professional men and
women who, as volunteers, address needs of their home and
international communities.

Rotary both international and local. For
example, today’s critical problems, such as health and
sanitation, hunger, and environment deterioration, must be
addressed at local levels. With more that 31,000 clubs in 166
countries, Rotary is ideally suited to address such problems.
Who are Rotaractors?

Rotaractors are young professionals between
the ages 18-30 years.
Who are Rotararians?

Rotarians are men and women of integrity
who represent a cross section of the business and professional
backgrounds. As volunteers of all ages, they work to meet
community and international concerns.
What does Rotaract do?

Rotaract clubs organize a variety of
projects and activities, depending primarily on the interest
of the club members.

All clubs undertake three types of
activities in varying degrees professional development,
leadership development, and service projects.
How is Rotary different from Rotaract?
-
Rotaract is a program of young men and
women between ages 18-30 years
-
While a Rotary club sponsors each Rotaract
club, Rotaract clubs conduct their own programs and service
activities.
