What is
4-H?
~4H is full of pleasure and fun. A place
to meet new peoples and learn new skills
for the future. 4H is learning by doing.
Who can
join 4-H?
~Anyone can join 4-H by being a
Jr. 4-Her, Sr. 4-Her, 4-H leader or
friend of 4-H.
*Jr. 4-H clubs are for girls and boys
still enrolled in primary school over the
age of eight. (These clubs are school
based)
*Sr. 4-H clubs are started by interested
community members and include a wide age
range of those no longer in primary
school. (These clubs are school and
community based)
*Leaders are people who provide overall
organization and guidance to the club.
*Friends are parents, grandparents and
other community members showing concern
for youth with donations and financial
support.
Why should
I join 4-H?
~4-H gives you the chance to make new
friends.
~4-H gets you involved with community
activities and to be a leader in your
community.
~4-H encourages you to be a positive
thinker and doer.
~4-H helps you strengthen abilities to
make intelligent decisions solve problems
and manage in a fast changing world.
~4-H teaches you more about the
environment, Agriculture, Arts and other
skills for the future.
~4-H develops further your communication
and self-expression abilities.
~4-H can empower you to seek out and
acquire educational and vocational
experiences.
What are
some 4-H activities?
~There are club as well as
individual projects that 4-Hers do
throughout the year. When you enroll, you
will become involved in projects that
interest you and other members in your
club. Some projects you may become
involved with include: *Agriculture/
Horticulture *Leadership Management *Arts
& Crafts *Outdoor Life *Clothing
*Personal Development *Environmental
Awareness
*Poultry/Cattle/Sheep…etc
