The Christian Basketball Tournament for this year, will no longer span over one month, but will take place on 26^th & 27^th March 2004 at the Blackburn Basketball Court, Villa at 6:30 PM.

The change was due to the current political climate, ahead of the country’s General Elections on Tuesday 23^rd March.

….Sponsors Come Forth….

Cable & Wireless has emerged as the Platinum Sponsor for this year, for the third consecutive year.  Cable & Wireless will be assisting in purchasing players’ vests and polo shirts for the Christian Basketball Tournament Committee.

The Antigua Barbuda Investment Bank, ABIB, has come on board for the second year and will be assisting in donations and other prize for players.

The Christian Basketball Tournament began in 1998, with a simple motive of providing an additional sporting and socializing event for the children of God.

 The competition is organized on yearly basis by a group of Christian, who worship at the Beacon Light Church of the Nazarene located in Villa.

 The denominations that have participated since the inception of the tournament are: Bible Believers Fellowship, Baptist Church, Christian Assembly Ministries, Christian Union Church, New Testament Church of God, Moravian, Pentecostal, The People's Church, Wesleyan, Zion Church of God and Church of the Nazarene.

….Here are our objectives….

 1. To develop the sporting abilities of young people, while at the same time developing wholesome characteristics of outstanding citizens of Antigua and Barbuda.

2. To provide an opportunity for interaction and socialization of participants, visitors, other communities and churches.

3. To provide a unique sporting event to pull together the children of God, which not only serves Christians but pull together other groups and clubs as well.

The Christian Basketball Tournament is seeking sponsorship to help make the 2004 tournament a success. Sponsors can expect to receive maximum coverage and the prestige of being associated with a Christian sporting event that seeks to develop young people spiritually and physically.
